What is Training?

Short hands-on workshops or lecture/demonstration type seminars on various supported software and systems are presented every semester by the OIT divisions on all 3 campuses.

Additionally the campus divisions are willing to present seminars to a department, group of departments, or a class, as long as there will be:

  1. enough people to justify the class.
  2. the area to be covered is one that OIT staff are prepared to teach.
Where OIT is not able to teach a course itself, we will attempt to refer you to an outside organization. Please contact the Help Desk on your Campus. In Camden call 856-225-6323, in Newark call 973-353-5086, and in New Brunswick call 732-445-HELP (4357).

Who can take advantage of the OIT seminars

Seminars are open to all faculty, staff, and students.

What other learning materials are available?

Self paced learning materials are available in various formats in Camden and New Brunswick . Monthly meetings for system administrators

How can I attend a seminar?

All seminars require pre-registration.

There is no fee to attend a regularly scheduled OIT seminar/workshop.

Some self paced instructional media such as audio and video tapes require a $25.00 deposit which is refundable upon return of the materials.

What other University groups present computer training?

The Rutgers University Libraries present hands-on workshops (see the services section of their web page).

The Teaching Excellence Centers in Camden, Newark, and New Brunswick also present workshops.
